P / 01

Clear rules for evidence, privacy, image credit, correction requests, fighter claims, and editorial independence.

The short version

Show the source.
Protect private data.
Fix the record.

NFI stands for Nebraska Fight Index, Nebraska MMA's independent rankings and fighter-evaluation system. The public can challenge facts with evidence; Nebraska MMA staff remains accountable for rankings and scouting judgments.

01

Corrections & appeals

Fighters, coaches, gyms, promoters, and readers can challenge a factual record or ranking with a reliable public source. Nebraska MMA staff verifies the evidence, records material edits in the revision history, and reopens NFI Rankings review when the corrected fact could affect board order. A correction does not guarantee a requested ranking outcome.

02

A source label identifies where a public image was located; it does not claim ownership or imply endorsement. Staff uploads should be used only with permission or a documented editorial basis. Nebraska MMA will replace or remove a disputed image while a credible rights or identity concern is reviewed. Profiles without an approved image use an unmistakable fighter-shadow fallback.

03

Privacy & contact data

Contact details submitted through correction, fighter, gym, event, or claim forms are kept in the protected staff workflow and are not displayed publicly unless the submitter separately asks for publication. Nebraska MMA does not ask users to send passwords through a form, and recovery exports exclude community submissions and identity proofs.

04

Editorial independence

Sponsors, advertisers, promoters, gyms, athletes, ticket partners, and account holders cannot buy ranking position, scouting grades, archetype assignment, prospect placement, or favorable coverage. Commercial support may be labeled next to editorial work but remains outside the ranking decision.

05

Fighter claims

An approved fighter claimant may request changes to personal profile information such as hometown, stance, height, gym, photo, social links, next fight, and biography. Staff approval remains required. Rankings, NFI OVR, individual ratings, prospect score, archetype assignment, source notes, and ranking history remain staff-controlled.

06

Uncertainty & provisional files

Public-record gaps are shown as pending, not guessed. Preliminary ratings are conservative editorial estimates based on the evidence cited on the profile. Film-reviewed files require the deeper review described in the methodology. Event announcements are not counted as results, and non-MMA bouts do not change an MMA record.

Correction workflow

Submit → verify → revise.

  1. Send the record.Identify the profile, event, gym, or story and attach a reliable link.
  2. Staff verifies.Nebraska MMA compares the claim with the cited source and related public records.
  3. The public file changes.Confirmed factual corrections publish through the staff system and enter revision history.
  4. Ranking review follows when needed. If the corrected fact can affect order, staff reviews the relevant NFI board.
